Perfect place for a cosy stay with excellent staff and delicious food!

Pros: All of the staff were helpful and friendly. We arrived late, just before the kitchen closed, but as we called ahead to order we were able to eat, despite train cancellations and delays. The location was delightful and the room beautiful. We were welcomed and charmed by every member of staff during our stay. The food was exceptional. As foodies, we were delighted and even stayed for lunch on the day we checked out, just to enjoy more options from their menu. We were also pleased with our breakfast, which was cooked to order, along with a few extras. We will definitely stay there again, every time we are in the area.

Cons: Everything was excellent in this cosy location. The fire in the dining room was welcome on a rainy day, and the whole vibe was relaxed and friendly. We loved everything!

Just what we needed

Pros: On arrival the heating wasn’t working, we mentioned this Heidi who quickly responded and resolved the problem, we were soon warm as toast. The evening meal was excellent the crispy chicken Katsu was delicious, my wife had a donner meat pizza which was really tasty, a little on the large side but we are not huge portion fans.

Cons: Just the room being checked for warmth before we arrived, as I said the issue was quickly resolved. A great place to stay especially for visits to Cambridge and the Imperial War Museum at Duxford.

Very welcoming place to stay with really friendly staff

Pros: This will be our new Cambridgeshire base to visit our son in Melbourn. Really friendly staff who we got to know well and our room was great. Anything we wanted we just asked for. Breakfast was fantastic using locally sourced bacon. Pub was great to hang out in if we didn't want to stay in our room. We'll be back.

Cons: The wifi took a bit of figuring out as the instructions weren't right with the various routers a bit mixed up, but a bit of trial and error sorted it out. TV reception was very patchy outside of the main channels. A constructive recommendation would be to do a regular tech check on the wifi and TV.

Highly enjoyable and relaxing.

Pros: The whole experience was terrific. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and the food was excellent. The room was clean and modern. Breakfast was first class, you could have cereals, followed by a full breakfast or number of other foods. We also had an orange drink and a coffee pot each. The accommodation is located in a very nice area with good parking.

Cons: Nothing to be fair, as it met and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely return.

Great base for our “boys” trip to Duxford.

Pros: The first cooked breakfast was rather average. The second day I settled on cereal and toast. My travelling companions enjoyed theirs.

Smart, well

Pros: We had one night stay following a local wedding. The room was situated on a building next to the main pub / restaurant. It looked fairly new and was well maintained, with tea / coffee available. The bed was very comfortable and the room included and large en-suite bathroom / shower room with a large shower cubicle and strong head of water. Great breakfast the next morning. Altogether excellent value for money.

Cons: All good
