Lovely old pub in good location, comfortable and clean

Pros: Lovely old pub. Friendly staff. Clean room with a lovely big bed. Nice to see bottled water provided Unfortunately, due to a family issue we had to cut short our 2 night stay and leave after 1 night. The hotel agreed to refund me, which they didn’t have to do and for which I was very grateful

Cons: The only niggle was at breakfast. My pet hate is thermos flasks to dispense hot water and coffee. The hot water was tepid and unusable for tea, and the coffee was not much better. Please can you serve freshly brewed coffee and a teapot of tea

Perfect will definitely visit again

Pros: Our stay was very good and really good value with the overnight stay, dinner and breakfast we will definitely visit again

Cons: Our shower was’nt the greatest I struggled to get the shower to work Water very hot, staff member came to rectify the problem

Great location and breakfasts . Friendly staff . Rooms quirky

Pros: Breakfast is amazing plenty of choice and good quality. Staff very friendly and helpful. Made you feel welcome and helped with any query

Cons: Heating . I’ve stayed here a couple of times and each time have to ask staff to restart the boiler as no heating coming through in the room . The staff sorted it and made sure I was comfortable

50th birthday celebrations

Pros: The hotel was walking distance from the restaurant we were celebrating a 50th birthday at. Breakfast, cooked and continental, in the hotel was very nice and good value for money. Coggeshall is a very pretty village.

Had a nice stay for 1 night the staff were friendly the breakfast really nice however the coffee was not up to standard

Pros: It’s a beautiful property in the heart of coggershal in a beautiful area , the car park is just round the corner of the hotel at the back

Cons: My room was small but it had a comfortable bed and due to it being winter the room was lovely and warm , the room though could do with being updated especially the shower area example new sealant and the wood painted

A lovely hotel in the heart of a lovely village

Pros: A great hotel in a lovely location. Everywhere was spotless with all staff friendly and welcoming. The food we had was excellent and was very good value. We were upgraded and the room (#1) was huge and full of character. Loved it!

Cons: Nothing really. It was all good!
