Bull Hotel by Greene King Inns

Built in 1450 the Bull Hotel is a timber house in the charming East Anglian village of Long Melford. The former Coaching Inn offers en suite rooms and fine food. Reflecting the Bull’s history, bedrooms are furnished in a traditional style. They feature bathrooms with showers and baths, TVs, free Wi-Fi and tea/coffee making facilities. The Cordell and Kentwell restaurants serve traditional English cuisine and have a fine wine list to accompany the menu. Relax after dinner in an armchair by one of the Elizabethan fireplaces. Great stay, quiet area, independent shops, good sized rooms

Pros: Food was excellent. Staff very caring and friendly despite being short staffed due to annual leave. All seemed happy to be there.

Cons: If the bathroom radiator top was removed and the dust hoovered out, it would look much better. You couldn’t miss it when sat on the loo!!

Perfect for a short break

Pros: Great location in Long Melford. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good pub grub.

Cons: The lighting in our bedroom was very dim. We appreciate that it’s a very old building but the bedroom floor was very uneven, which was a bit of a problem with limited mobility, and it was very creaky and noisy underfoot.

Enjoyable break the hotel was cosy and clean with Lovely staff.

Pros: Breakfast was a little disappointing as we had continental and it was very basic.

Fabulous stay in old historic hotel with good food.

Pros: Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean with comfortable bed and pillows. Very good shower. Breakfast was fabulous with great choice. Food in the restaurant was great and good value.

Cons: Nothing. All good.
