Friendly atmosphere, nice staff, clean, comfortable room.

Pros: Old fashioned friendly pub in the heart of Wivenhoe.

Cons: The steep, narrow stairs to get to the room. Shame they don’t do breakfast.

Ideal location, great rom, loved it!

Pros: Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, well equipped, good bathroom. Ample tea/ coffee making facilities. Bottled water, & mini toiletries. Great attention to detail

Cons: The only thing to be aware of, is that there are very steep, narrow stairs to the room. Probably would not be suitable for anyone with very reduced mobility. BEI g elderly, I found it only just manageable with help from my grandson. No clear directions on how to check out. Just posted keys through pub door

Wivenyes to Wivenhoe!

Pros: Really clean and tidy. Lovely decor. Friendly staff. Great little pub, close to all the amenities. Can't fault it really - no sugar sachets for my coffee in morning, but that's good for me.

Cons: Nothing really. It was perfect.

Amazing little find

Pros: Lovely pub and room was very big and comfortable. It was in a convenient location for Colchester castle.

Cons: Everything was perfect, only thing was missing was sugar for tea!

Pros: This is a fabulous little inn right in the heart of the oldest part of the village of Wivenhoe, a few steps from the waterfront. The room is full of character with centuries-old features, but modern electrics, wifi etc. Staff very welcoming and helpful.

Excellent

Pros: No breakfast included, but that available at the nearby Rose and Crown was very good. Location yards from waterfront was perfect and very close to where my friends were staying at 1 High Street. Food we had Thursday evening was excellent and enjoyed by all.

Cons: Nowhere to put stuff in the shower.
