Hamiltons Boutique Hotel

Lovely position. Delightful room and breakfast. Very helpful host once we arrived. Good value.

Pros: The hotel is in a lovely position above the sea near the pier with an excellent view. Beautifully judged and presented breakfast. Delightful room with sea view (didn't know we would get this) and excellent bathroom. Very comfortable bed. We were right at the top of the hotel on the third floor (which we liked) but there is no lift so some travellers might not be able to manage this.

Cons: While we had a lovely time once we arrived, we both found it very offputting being informed bluntly that if we arrived after 9.00 the hotel would be closed. We were aware of the opening times and had given our expected time of arrival of 7.30 and were in very good time when we got the last message so it was very unlikely that we would be late but it did make us wonder what welcome we would receive. In the event, the host was friendly and very helpful. I can only guess that some people have been less than respectful in the past. Another issue was around booking. I tried to call the hotel several times to enquire about the types of room available but the call was diverted somewhere else and then cut off which the owner may not have been aware of. Eventually the host called me back otherwise we would have booked elsewhere.

Wonderful hotel, good location for the pier!

Pros: Stayed here on a Saturday night as we were out with friends for the evening. Checked in just after 4pm and we're given the key to our room which was on the top floor. The room is spacious with a flat screen TV, fan, ironing board, hairdryer and an extra heater. A large wardrobe and drawers. Also a kettle with tea, coffee, biscuits a couple of packets of crisps, a large bottle of water and glasses. The en suite has a decent size shower with plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and we had a wonderful night's sleep. The hotel was cleaned to a very high standard and we were very impressed with the overall cleanliness. We both had a full English breakfast and toast, tea and coffee which we both enjoyed very much. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Pros: I love the style and decoration of the hotel very traditional. All spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we needed, such as tea, coffee, and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional, served really hot with tasty bread for toast and great coffee.

Cons: Just a bit cool in the room for us on arrival as stayed in February. We were in room 3, which was lovely but very small, fine for 1 nights stay, though.

Pros: The rooms were lovely and clean and the personal touches were lovely 😍

Pros: Spotlessly clean and lovely owner who went above and beyond.

Pros: Breakfast was perfectly cooked and other food items were exactly what you expect for a good breakfast.

Cons: Having to get up early to enter more money for the car pay toll

Great sea views. Comfortable room with a good shower. Enjoyable breakfast.

Pros: Right on the promenade with a great view of the Pier. Parking out on the road. Meter payment from 8am - 6pm. Helpful advice re visit to Palace Theatre.
