Riverside Inn

Would recommend..alas a tad expensive.

Pros: The location, the room, decor, the coffee and free biscuits, the ease of getting in and out, the cleanness...overall very attractive, inviting and exceptionally comfortable.

Cons: Very early and limited time for breakfast, especially for a weekend. The early checkout at 10am.

Stylish sophistication: tranquil river scenes and sounds

Pros: I had a room with a view over a lovely stretch of the river. Many boats moored; fisherman waiting patiently for a bite: a picturesque working river scene. Many dogs and their humans passing by, clearly enjoying the riverside atmosphere. Even the semi-distant sound of trains crossing the river at night added (in my view) to the tranquil rhythm of my stay. Although the room was compact, the quality of the fittings were excellent in both the sleeping room and in the bathroom. This emphasis on delicacy and quality appears also in the breakfast. The technology of the check-in worked smoothly, as did the key system to the room door and bathroom.

Cons: This is not a dislike about the property. However, guests arriving by car and wishing to park very near to property need to be lucky and / or patient to find a free overnight parking space: locals and visiting fishermen might stay parked for some time each day. Having said this, the City of Ely offers free (limited time) public parking at various locations around the city and historical centres. The next time I visit Ely and choose the stay at the excellent Riverside Inn, I might choose to travel by train: Ely railway station is about 10 minutes walk from the property.

Pros: Decor, comfy bed, excellent shower. Breakfast choices. Location. So easy to walk to and from train station as town.

Cons: Only staying one night!

Pros: Wow !! Loved the decor throughout.. very clean rooms fresh bed and comfortable.. bathroom was spotless and nice touches with extras.. nice view of the river .. nice breakfast .. staff friendly .. good WiFi.. definitely would return and recommended.

Cons: Breakfast was lovely but maybe more choice with the cooked breakfast items (beaked beans/mushrooms) but this is just an idea. The was a good choice of cereal and pastries

Pros: Very easy self checking Lovely and clean, very comfortable. Good location just a short walk, nice pub across the road

Cons: Nothing, it was a lovely guest house, but if I had to pick something it would be no mat inside the front door to wipe our feet, especially with wet weather outside.

Lovely rooms but lack of customer service was my only real issue.

Pros: Really great clean room. Fabulous bed and very clean.

Cons: There is no reception, which is fine but they say they can be contacted via various means. However when I contacted them asking a few questions about parking etc, the replies I got were, 'just read the info on booking' but what I was asking was not on there. Felt like I was being an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. Also nothing owners could do but room 6 & 7 are at the side entrance and noise disturbance was a big issue.

A great location to visit the area, everything in walking distance .

Pros: Location was excellent right by the river and a pub close by . The accommodation was very clean no problems .

Cons: At the weekend no parking problems but in the week it’s restricted early in the mornings
