Swan Hotel & Spa

Apart from the above it was absolutely fantastic in a stunning location.

Pros: The location & cleanliness. A touch of luxury & room was fantastic.

Cons: We had a rather unfortunate experience in the restaurant when a guest’s dog was sick. Not the dogs fault as the owners were feeding her rich food. However, I feel dogs shouldn’t be allowed in the actual restaurant. The rooms & bar fine. The staff dealt with the situation very professionally & couldn’t apologise enough. It was purely the fault of the owners & they didn’t even offer to clean it up. They walked away & left your staff to deal with it. Not the sort of thing we expected when we were paying good money for our meal to celebrate my husbands birthday & retirement.

Thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish.

Pros: Everything ! The food and service and ambience were all excellent. The absence of piped pop music in the dining room was greatly appreciated. So many hotels spoil the experience by playing music that is not to everyone's taste. At the Swan Hotel, Lavenham, they got it right.

Cons: There is nothing to complain about - this hotel is very well run and all staff members were immensely courteous at all times. Other hotels could learn from the Swan experience.

Beautiful historic comfortable stay

Pros: Staff were very helpful and friendly. Catered well for vegetarians and food was delicious.

Relaxing stay for our silver wedding anniversary. Staff faultless and made it special.

Pros: The building is amazing, quirky, interesting and historic but with all mod cons needed for a comfortable stay.

Cons: Radiator in bedroom turned off so room got cold overnight. If housekeeping checked and in winter put on half way that might help.

Highly recommend

Pros: There is nothing not to like about The Swan. We have stayed here many times, and will continue to. It is a wonderful start to the year, lots of cosy nooks by fireplaces, the rooms are wonderful, the spa is relaxing and the food is superb. The staff are all lovely too. Highly recommended.

Winter wonderland stay

Pros: Great location. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful . We took our dog with us and he was very spoilt

Cons: we loved everything I did however feel very sorry for the staff as some guests were very rude which was completely un called for

Great stay and dining experience with a couple of suggestions

Pros: Dan, Freddie and all staff were really helpful and friendly. Spa facilities were great. Rooms and hotel lovely. The food was tasty and well presented. The breakfast was outstanding.

Cons: There were long waits for evening meals. There did not seem to be enough staff on. All available staff were working to full capacity though. I would suggest you stagger the bookings and staff communicate about potential long waits.
