Stay and Relax at The Yew Tree

A good, sensibly priced accommodation notation for a night’s stay.

Pros: A great stop over for a night. A warm welcome from the staff at the bar and a cosy fire and a drink settled us in. The room was clean and had all we needed (extra heater if it was too cold at night). Providing robes and slippers was a nice touch and was appreciated. They now provide a breakfast bag as there is nowhere to eat nearby that we could see. This was fine as we weren’t expecting to have anything until we’d stopped off somewhere.

Cons: Nothing really. It’s more of a motel set up with chalet style rooms. Decor a little tired but clean and tidy and we had a great night’s sleep.

A country pub with ensuite rooms

Pros: We were made very welcome when we arrived, and also in the pub, which is part of the hotel. There are self contained ensuite rooms behind it, which are very clean, warm, and the bed is very comfortable.

Fantastic hotel.

Pros: The owner was very friendly and welcoming, the room lovely and the bed very comfortable. Its also in a good location if you're going to a concert at Audley End House.

Cons: Our room didn't have a shower and only had a bath.

Pros: The room was ground level with no stairs to climb. I was made very welcome when I arrived at the Yew Tree.

Cons: The shower was fine but a door on the shower enclosure would be better than a shower curtain as they become static. There were some scuff marks on the shower tray, otherwise the room was fine.

Owner was very friendly and accommodating

Pros: Property was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable.

Cons: More plug sockets would be useful

The staff and service here was so friendly and helpful, it really made the stay!

Pros: The rooms were super private and clean, the service from the manager and all of the team was super friendly and attentive, it made the stay really enjoyable - the manager even let us borrow his umbrella to walk to a nearby wedding!

Quiet pub in beautiful village location with lovely staff, very pet friendly.

Pros: The staff and owner were really helpful. A problem with the boiler meant that they were unable to fulfil our original request however went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with alternative arrangements.

Cons: It would have been perfect if the pub had served food however we appreciate that it’s a difficult time in hospitality. They were very helpful when we ordered our own food in and provided a breakfast bag which was a nice touch.

Overall, The Yew Tree gave us good value for money. I'll certainly book when in that area.
